Aviation News International – Northern parts of the country have been reeling under the thick fog conditions for a few days. On Wednesday, fog engulfed the national capital disrupting flight operations at Delhi International Airport on Thursday.
Several domestic and international flights are behind schedule owing to the thick blanket fog in several parts of the country, the Flight Information Display Board (FIDB) at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport mentioned.
Delhi airport is facing significant flight disruptions caused by dense fog and adverse weather conditions. There are delays in 22 international departures, 20 international arrivals, 31 domestic arrivals, and 46 domestic departures, Delhi Airport FIDB showed.
Air operations at Delhi Airport have been witnessing a significant disruption as dense fog blankets the region, disrupting the flight services. On Tuesday, the movement to and from Delhi was also affected due to bad fog and adverse weather conditions.

People in Delhi woke up with dense foggy conditions amidst the prevailing cold wave conditions.
The visibility improved at various observatories in Delhi late at night on Tuesday, with Safdarjung recording visibility of 500 metres and Palam recording 700 metres at 11.45 pm.
Delhi’s IGI Airport reported a visibility of 600 metres from 5.30 am. As per IMD, dense fog conditions are very likely to continue in isolated places over Delhi till January 27.

Low visibility procedures are in process, passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information, the Delhi Airport mentioned on X.
Meanwhile, NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) has been issued for Republic Day week till January 26, in which no flights would be arriving or departing from Delhi Airport between 10:20 AM to 12:45 PM IST.
