Bali Will Be The 1st Indonesian A380 Airport As Emirates Launches Flights

Emirates has revealed that the Airbus A380 will be used to Denpasar Bali from June, one of 49 airports, to see the double-decker this summer. It will be the first Indonesian airport to have A380 flights. Despite Denpasar’s equipment change, daily seats for sale won’t surpass Emirates’ previous record.

Emirates A380 to Indonesia

Beginning on June 1st, one of Emirates’ double daily Dubai-Denpasar flights will now use the A380. The two-class, 615-seat configuration will be deployed, replacing the 777-300ER.

As you can see, the A380 will be on EK368 outbound. The 03:25 departure from the UAE hub corresponds to the carrier’s biggest departure bank to the Far East.

22% more seats, but not a record

Across all airlines, there are up to five daily flights from the Middle East to Bali this summer. Emirates’ shift to the A380 will give it a further advantage of sorts versus competitors while providing a considerable capacity boost.

Dubai-Denpasar will have 1,043 departing seats for sale daily, +22% more than before the change was made. It isn’t even more because it uses its highest-density 777-300ER on the leisure-heavy route. These have two classes and 428 seats.

Despite the very high-density A380, daily capacity doesn’t surpass the 1,200 available seats on some occasions in 2018 and 2019. This was when it served Denpasar, 4,653 miles (7,489 km) from Dubai, triple daily.

Emirates to Denpasar

The Middle East giant inaugurated Dubai-Denpasar eight years ago, in June 2015. Analyzing booking data shows it carried approximately 390,000 Denpasar passengers in 2019, with a seat load factor of about 81%.
