Bengaluru is one of 20 Indian airports to have non-stop flights to Southeast and Northeast Asia this summer. According to the latest OAG data, Bengaluru has 498,000 departing seats (double for both ways) and almost 10% of India’s total. Helped by the coming arrival of Thai Lion Air, Bengaluru is India’s fifth-biggest airport by non-stop capacity to Southeast/Northeast Asia, behind Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata.

Thai Lion Air is the latest addition

Operating four weekly, the carrier will launch Bengaluru from Bangkok Don Mueang on April 24th, with very little lead-in time. Using the 737-800, it is scheduled as follows, with all times local:

  • Bangkok to Bengaluru: SL216, 21:00-23:05
  • Bengaluru to Bangkok: SL217, 00:10-05:35
