VietJet Launches Summer Promotion

VietJet is back with another promotion, this time offering a million discounted tickets for a limited period of time. The airline often comes up with promotions seasonally or during the launch of a particular route, and this time, it also promises a fun experience on some flights as part of its “Summer Parade” festival with a wide range of entertainment options.

One million discounted tickets on offer

Vietnam’s low-cost carrier VietJet is back with another promotion offering one million tickets fared from $200 (inclusive of fees and taxes), with certain terms and conditions. The airline has named the week-long program “VietJet pampers you, summer chill,” which starts on May 10th and runs until May 17th.

Discounted tickets booked during the promotional week will be applicable to travel later in the year from August 10th to December 12th, across the airline’s network, including flights departing Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. These promotional tickets are available on the airline’s website and mobile application and are subject to availability.

The airline also mentions that successful ticket purchases from May 10th to August 15th will come with e-vouchers that passengers can apply for their next flight across its network from August 10th to December 31st.

Summer Parade festival

With the start of its summer season in May, VietJet is also offering a fun experience on some of its flights, calling the offering the “Summer Parade” festival.

On select international and domestic flights, VietJet passengers can enjoy a range of entertainment options on the ground in Vietnam and onboard the plane, including celebrity appearances, artistic performances featuring music and light shows, and participation in local carnivals and events.

Through its loyalty program, VietJet passengers can also redeem points for flight tickets and more than 250 culinary, shopping, and travel brands around the world through the SkyJoy application.

Profitable growth

The latest promotion by VietJet comes close on the heels of the carrier releasing its financial results for the first three months of this year. The carrier’s air transport revenue was VND12,880 billion (approximately $553 million), and after-tax profit reached VND168 billion ($7.2 million), year-on-year increases of 286% and 320%, respectively.

In the first quarter, VietJet operated 31,300 flights, carrying around 5.4 million passengers. The airline grew these numbers by 57% and 75% from the figures in the corresponding period in 2022.

The airline has also been expanding its international network lately, offering more flights to South Korea as well as starting new services to Australia. Its current fleet has 77 Airbus aircraft, including 18 A320-200s, 36 A321-200s, 18 A321neos, and five A330-300s.
