Avianca Launches Six Routes And Relaunches Eight With Its Airbus A320s

This summer season is starting strongly for Avianca. The Colombian carrier is launching six new routes and restarting nine more during the first days of June. Some of these new routes include destinations in the United States, such as Boston and New York. Let’s take a look at Avianca’s new routes.

The new routes launched by Avianca

Employing its Airbus A320 fleet, Avianca is launching six new routes between June 1 and 15, the airline said in a statement. These new routes depart from Cali International Airport (CLO) in Colombia, San Salvador International (SAL) in El Salvador, and Quito International (UIO) in Ecuador and will add 44 new weekly flights for the company.

From Cali, Avianca launched a new seasonal flight to San Andrés International Airport (ADZ) today, which serves the Colombian leisure destination of San Andrés Island. Avianca will operate eight weekly flights on this route.

Avianca has launched two new routes from San Salvador on Thursday to Boston (BOS) and Cancun (CUN). These two routes will have six weekly flights. On June 11, Avianca will also begin flying to Orlando, with eight weekly flights. Finally, the Colombian carrier started flying to New York (JFK) from Quito yesterday, operating ten weekly flights. On June 15, it will begin flying to Cancun, operating six weekly flights.

Avianca’s restarted routes

The company is restarting nine routes this month, adding 70 weekly flights. Most of these routes depart from Colombia, with two from Pereira (PEI), two from Cali, and one from Bucaramanga (BGA), Cartagena (CTG), Santa Marta, and Medellín (MDE). The ninth route is being restarted from San José (SJO), Costa Rica.

On June 1, Avianca restarted five routes. Four of these routes have Miami International (MIA) as the final destination, departing from Bucaramanga (six weekly flights), Cali (14), Cartagena (ten), Pereira (eight), and one to New York from Pereira (eight).
