Saudia Welcomes Global Aviation Leaders to the 56th

Air aviation news – The 56th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Arab Air Carriers’ Organization (AACO) has commenced, focusing on several pivotal agendas to advance the aviation sector within the region. Discussions primarily revolve around the strategies for digital transformation, sustainability, and aligning all initiatives with the targets established by international aviation organizations. As the host of this major event, Saudia held an inaugural ceremony under the patronage of His Excellency Engr. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, the Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation.

The event witnessed the presence of various dignitaries, including His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim bin Abdulrahaman Al-Omar, the Director General of Saudia Group, President of the Annual General Meeting and Chairman of the Executive Committee of AACO, and His Excellency Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). Also in attendance were the Secretary General of AACO, the Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, and the Director General of the International Air Transport Association, along with other high-ranking officials from various international aviation bodies.

The inauguration ceremony of the AGM took place in Al Diriyah Governorate. Preceding this event, Saudia organized a tour for all attending guests to At-Turaif district in Al Diriyah, which is an integral project aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. At-Turaif holds immense historical and cultural significance, as it is considered the cradle of the Saudi state and the birthplace of its glorious history. Following the conclusion of the AGM, a special trip will be arranged to the AlUla Province, allowing guests to explore the diverse touristic, historical, and cultural heritage. This initiative exemplifies Saudi Arabia’s commitment to hosting the event and welcoming various officials from around the world, reinforcing its ambition to connect the world to the Kingdom and introducing its diverse array of tourist and entertainment sites.

His Excellency Engr. Saleh Al-Jasser mentioned in his speech that the aviation sector in the Kingdom has witnessed an unprecedented leap in growth and performance, supported by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince. This exceptional progress has been evident since the launch of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy by His Highness the Crown Prince, which proved crucial in formulating the aviation strategy. He further emphasized that the hosting of the AACO 56th AGM in the Kingdom confirms its elevated and evolving position within the aviation industry and the air transport sector. Moreover, he reiterated his support for AACO projects, mainly focusing on digital transformation, sustainability, and achieving the highest safety standards to ensure secure aviation practices that enrich the guest experience and meet their expectations.

His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar extended a warm welcome to the guests of the Kingdom, members of AACO, and all participants attending the 56th AGM. He mentioned that Saudia, since joining the organization, is keen on achieving its desired goals and contributing to strengthening its position as the umbrella for Arab airlines. This is based on the pivotal role aviation plays in advancing the national economy and fostering stronger international relationships and interests among nations. He added that the current phase requires further cooperation and joint efforts to sustain the growth and development of the aviation sector within the region.

Abdul Wahab Teffaha, the Secretary General of AAC stated, “Our meeting coincides with a transformative phase for the Kingdom, transitioning it toward new horizons that enhance its global economic significance and expand its presence across various sectors within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030.”
