Miami International Airport To Add a New $621 Million Concourse

Aviation News – Miami Dade-County Aviation is going ahead with plans to expand an existing terminal at the airport with another concourse.
Concourse K will be created and added to the South Terminal in what is estimated as a $621 million project at the airport. A public notice was issued last week for design services.
Miami International competes with Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, which is less than 30 miles away, for competition in the lucrative South Florida market.
The new concourse will be a three-level structure and is said to match the interior and exterior of the existing South Terminal. It will also be able to accommodate three wide-body aircraft, six narrow-body aircraft or a combination thereof.
Larger lounge spaces, which seem to be growing in popularity at airports, will also be part of the project.
