Norwegian Group enters autumn with 2.7 million passengers in September

The Norwegian Group carried a total of 2.7 million passengers in September, with 2.3 million flying on Norwegian and nearly 400,000 on Widerøe. The group reported solid operational performance, with load factors of 86.6% for Norwegian and 73.4% for Widerøe.
September also marked key developments: Norwegian confirmed it will exercise options for 30 additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, bringing its order to 80, and unveiled new network expansions, including 10 international routes from Billund Airport. Widerøe will also join the Norwegian Reward loyalty programme from 16 October.
Both carriers were briefly affected by Danish and Norwegian airspace closures due to suspected drone activity, but maintained strong punctuality and regularity rates.
CEO Geir Karlsen said the strong figures underline the Group’s growth ambitions and its ability to adapt to customer travel needs.
