EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering obtains AS9110 International quality certification

AS9110 is an international quality management system standard specifically designed for organizations providing aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services.
The certification ensures that the accredited organization complies with the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability in aircraft maintenance.
The audit covered all departments and facilities of the company and included assessments of employees across various specializations.
The certification body’s auditors praised the company’s outstanding technical standards, advanced capabilities, and highly skilled workforce.
The successful completion of the audit and attainment of the certification reflect international organizations’ confidence in the company and enhance its credibility among customers worldwide.
On this occasion, Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company, congratulated the employees of EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering on successfully passing the audit and obtaining the certification for the first time.
He emphasized that securing this international certification is a key pillar in reinforcing the leadership of Egypt’s civil aviation sector regionally and internationally.
He noted that this achievement is not merely another certificate added to EgyptAir’s series of successes, but also a testament to the company’s commitment to the highest international standards of safety and quality.
It marks a significant step toward expanding market share and attracting more international customers, in line with the Egyptian state’s vision to maximize resources and develop partnerships with international entities.
For his part, Engineer Mohamed Sami, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering, expressed his pride in this achievement, saying: “Successfully passing this audit across all our facilities and departments is a well-deserved recognition of our technical teams and all employees, who demonstrated exceptional technical competence before the international auditors.”
He added that this certification represents a strategic transformation in the company’s journey, as it is exclusively focused on the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector and imposes stringent requirements to ensure continued airworthiness at the highest levels of reliability and risk management, while giving top priority to preventing counterfeit spare parts from entering the maintenance system.
This further strengthens the company’s position as a trusted partner and approved supplier to major international airlines.
He added: “The AS9110 certification opens new marketing opportunities for us through the company’s official inclusion in the global OASIS database for maintenance service providers, giving us a strong international competitive advantage.”
The AS9110 certification is of great strategic importance as it serves as the primary quality management framework for assessing aircraft and aircraft component maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) organizations.
It is built on the globally recognized ISO 9001:2015 quality management system while introducing highly stringent requirements that fully align with the sensitive nature of aviation technology.
Its importance is reflected in ensuring the continued airworthiness of aircraft and their components through a strong focus on repair plans and programmes, precise risk management, maintenance, safety, and reliability, and the qualification of human resources.
By obtaining the AS9110 certification, EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering has demonstrated its exceptional capability to meet and exceed the highest safety and performance standards required by global aviation authorities and customers.
