We\u2019re talking about everything from saving fuel and cutting waste to customer feedback,\u201d reveals\u00a0<strong>Manuel van Esch, the CEO at zeroG<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The hackathon\u2019s primary objective was to generate proofs-of-concept that assess the business case and tech feasibility for various scenarios.<\/p>\n<p>It will serve as the catalyst for integrating data and AI technology to have a tangible impact on Brussels Airlines.<\/p>\n<p>As Belgium\u2019s largest airline, Brussels Airlines contributes invaluable data and insights to this dynamic collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>Around 70 data scientists and AI experts from zeroG, partnered with 20 analysts and data experts from Brussels Airlines, constitute the core teams.<\/p>\n<p>They worked collaboratively in small groups to devise innovative solutions on how machine learning and AI can be profitably employed in aviation. Microsoft experts were also on-site, providing support and leveraging Microsoft Azure for case realization.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-unveiling-prominent-use-cases\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Unveiling Prominent Use Cases<\/h2>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h3 id=\"h-zero-fuel-weight-prediction\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Zero-fuel-weight Prediction<\/h3>\n<p>Addressing the challenge of saving millions of kilograms of fuel annually, this use case analyzes fuel overage occurrences, quantifies their impact through data, and explores sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-buy-on-board-fresh-food-waste-management\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Buy-on-board Fresh Food Waste Management<\/h3>\n<p>Introducing an AI tool that minimizes waste, offering potential time and cost savings, this use case reflects a commitment to efficiency and sustainability.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-performance-loop-boost\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Performance Loop Boost<\/h3>\n<p>Through a comprehensive analysis of Brussels Airlines\u2019 Data Architecture, this use case collaborates with business stakeholders to identify priority cases for tangible impact, promising improved performance loops.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-data-culture-workshop\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Data Culture Workshop<\/h3>\n<p>Led by zeroG\u2019s Data Leadership program instructors, this workshop aimed to establish data leadership characteristics and a sustainable data culture at Brussels Airlines through training and hands-on use cases.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-cabin-natural-language-processing-model-re-vamp\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cabin Natural Language Processing Model Re-vamp<\/h3>\n<p>Upgrading the Cabin NLP model at Brussels Airlines is geared towards enhancing crew AI reporting, including new methods for interpreting customer feedback.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-shaping-the-future-of-aviation\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shaping the Future of Aviation<\/h2>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<p>This collaboration \u2013 broadly described as a \u2018hackathon\u2019 \u2013 investigated some of the potential transformative applications of data and AI in the aviation sector.<\/p>\n<p>The outcomes, in the form of innovative solutions and revamped models, have the potential to revolutionize sustainability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in aviation.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-about-zerog\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">About zeroG<\/h2>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<p>zeroG is the expert center for data driven, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning solutions in aviation.
