But despite summer vacation woes, OAG predicts travelers have a 90% chance of arriving to their destination on time for the holiday celebrations.<\/p>\n<div class=\"halfway_hardwall_2\"><\/div>\n<p>Other factors aggravated weather delays this summer. Airlines and airports were still adapting to Covid-19 recovery and ramping-up operations while facing staff shortages and stretched aviation infrastructure.<\/p>\n<div class=\"halfway_hardwall_3\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"vestpocket\"><\/div>\n<p>Hiring qualified staff and fixing aviation infrastructure is a long process, but it has begun.<\/p>\n<div class=\"halfway_hardwall_4\"><\/div>\n<p>In a news conference ahead of Thanksgiving, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced plans to\u00a0<a class=\"color-link\" title=\"https:\/\/www.transportation.gov\/briefing-room\/fact-sheet-usdot-faa-work-improve-holiday-air-travel-and-strengthen-passenger-rights\" href=\"https:\/\/www.transportation.gov\/briefing-room\/fact-sheet-usdot-faa-work-improve-holiday-air-travel-and-strengthen-passenger-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.transportation.gov\/briefing-room\/fact-sheet-usdot-faa-work-improve-holiday-air-travel-and-strengthen-passenger-rights\" aria-label=\"address the infrastructural challenges\">address the infrastructural challenges<\/a>\u00a0ahead of the holidays.
