The addition of these advanced Airbus aircraft to our fleet will not only enhance our operational capabilities but also significantly contribute to our environmental goals,\u201d said Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis order for the latest generation aircraft is a demonstration of the bold vision by Turkish Airlines. The A350-900, A350-1000, A350F and A321 will all be flagship aircraft in their respective category and efficiency drivers to shape the airline\u2019s future and sustainable expansion, with more range, less fuel, noise and emissions and best cabin in class,\u201d added Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"order-smaller-than-expected\">Order smaller than expected<\/h3>\n<p>Since May, Turkish Airlines has been talking about a mega order, which is also expected to include Boeing aircraft. At the time, Bolat revealed to a group of journalists, including Reuters, that the company planned\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.airdatanews.com\/turkish-airlines-plans-mega-order-for-600-aircraft\/\"><strong>to receive around 600 jets<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0over the next 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>A month ago, on the eve of the Dubai Air Show,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.airdatanews.com\/turkish-airlines-close-to-ordering-345-airbus-aircraft-including-95-a350\/\"><strong>Turkish media revealed<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0that the carrier had met with Airbus and Rolls-Royce to work out the final details of the massive order.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-center\"><strong>Follow ADN:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/airdatanews\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Instagram<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/100212187\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>LinkedIn<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/airwayaviation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Twitter<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/airdatanews\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Facebook<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The numbers, however, were larger, including 250 A321neo narrow-body jets and 75 A350 widebodies.
