{"id":11809,"date":"2024-01-18T13:35:44","date_gmt":"2024-01-18T10:35:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aviation-news.info\/?p=11809"},"modified":"2024-01-18T12:15:18","modified_gmt":"2024-01-18T09:15:18","slug":"atlantic-aviation-and-joby-collaborate-to-electrify-infrastructure-in-new-york-and-southern-california","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviation-news.info\/?p=11809","title":{"rendered":"Atlantic Aviation and Joby collaborate to electrify infrastructure in New York and Southern California"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aviation News International &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Atlantic Aviation, a provider of aviation services and infrastructure, is collaborating with Joby Aviation, a company developing electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for commercial passenger service, to electrify existing aviation infrastructure in New York and Southern California, paving the way for the launch of Joby\u2019s revolutionary air taxi service.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration between Atlantic and Joby will focus on activating key Atlantic sites to support quiet, emissions-free air taxis, including the installation of Joby\u2019s Global Electric Aviation Charging System (GEACS).<\/p>\n<p>The two companies will undertake a comprehensive analysis of how Joby\u2019s revolutionary air taxi can operate at these locations alongside traditional aircraft and other electric aircraft, offering customers a new way to move from point to point in congested cities that is quieter and more sustainable.<\/p>\n<p>Atlantic has an extensive operational footprint in major cities across the United States, including numerous sites in the New York City and Los Angeles metropolitan areas, where Atlantic and Joby will initially focus their partnership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInfrastructure is a critical piece of the puzzle and Atlantic\u2019s presence in these two key U.S. markets will help ensure we\u2019re well positioned to deliver a meaningful service for our customers,\u201d said JoeBen Bevirt, founder and CEO of Joby Aviation. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to be working together to lay the foundation for the next generation of clean and quiet flight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>John Redcay, chief commercial &amp; sustainability officer at Atlantic said, \u201cOur collaboration with Joby is a key step in Atlantic\u2019s push to bring existing aviation infrastructure into the future and solidify Atlantic\u2019s leading role in supporting the growth of electric aviation.
