Aviation News International – The state government is exploring ways to integrate the upcoming\u00a0Noida International Airport\u00a0with the proposed maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility and the aviation hub. On Wednesday, the Noida International Airport Ltd (NIAL), the government body overseeing the airport project in Jewar, met the officials of Yamuna International Airport Ltd (YIAPL), which is developing the NIA, to discuss the master plan for the phased development of the nearly 6,500 hectares in Jewar earmarked for the development of the\u00a0aviation hub\u00a0and the airport.The meeting also looked at various models \u2014 a joint venture between the airport concessionaire and another company, a collaboration between the concessionaire and NIAL, a special purpose vehicle, or NIAL independently leading the development of the MRO and the aviation hub among others \u2014 that could address potential boundary or jurisdictional issues if NIA is integrated with the MRO and aviation hubs.
\n\u201cThe government wants to develop the project in an integrated manner. For this, future planning and a broad master plan are required. At present, we are concentrating on the initially allocated land parcels of 6,500 acres. Altogether there will be six runways that will come up in different phases. They need to be accessible, even if different companies are handling different components,\u201d NIAL CEO Arun Vir Singh said.
\nThe CEO said this was just an initial meeting. A decision will be reached after several rounds of discussions by the NIAL board and subsequently sent to the government for approval.<\/p>\n
