The airline, however, did not disclose the deal size. On January 18, Akasa Air had announced an order for 150 Boeing 737 Max planes.<\/p>\n<p>This new order grows CFM\u2019s footprint in\u00a0<a id=\"event-\" class=\"ie-click-event\" href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/india-news\/\" rel=\"noamphtml\" data-post-id=\"event-\" data-event-category=\"Keyword_To_URL_widget\" data-event-action=\"click\" data-event-label=\"Desktop_3376185\">India<\/a>, with more than 400 CFM-powered aircraft in service and 2,500 LEAP engines in the backlog, according to the statement. \u201cContinuing to partner with CFM as our engine maintenance provider not only reaffirms our focus on operational reliability but equally underscores Akasa Air\u2019s relentless pursuit of world-class safety,\u201d Vinay Dube, founder and CEO of Akasa Air, said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>At present, both of CFM\u2019s parent companies, GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines, have made investments in India to build facilities dedicated to \u2018LEAP\u2019 engine production and maintenance.
