{"id":12939,"date":"2024-04-20T11:50:13","date_gmt":"2024-04-20T08:50:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aviation-news.info\/?p=12939"},"modified":"2024-04-20T11:50:13","modified_gmt":"2024-04-20T08:50:13","slug":"dubai-airports-ceo-says-hub-is-100-operational-despite-1200-cancellations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviation-news.info\/?p=12939","title":{"rendered":"Dubai Airports CEO Says Hub is \u2018100% Operational\u2019 Despite 1,200 Cancellations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aviation News International &#8211; While check-ins for <a href=\"https:\/\/skift.com\/2024\/03\/18\/emirates-chairman-to-run-dubai-royals-new-mega-development-firm\/\">Emirates<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/skift.com\/2024\/04\/19\/airlines-divert-and-cancel-flights-after-israel-attacks-iran\/\">Flydubai<\/a>\u00a0have reopened, the airport said that its main Terminal 3 was backed up as travelers deal with cancelations and lengthy delays.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is currently a high volume of guests in [the] Terminal 3 check-in area,\u201d it said in a statement on its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dubaiairports.ae\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a>. \u201cPassengers should only come to Terminal 3 if they have received a confirmation from their airline regarding their flight departure.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-emirates-cancels-connecting-flights\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Emirates Cancels Connecting Flights<\/h3>\n<p>Emirates passengers this morning have been told to turn back if their flight connects in Dubai, or if they arrive in Dubai before April 19, 11:59PM GMT.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The airline states: \u201cCheck-in is suspended for customers with onward connections through Dubai until 23:59 GMT on 19 April(0:3.59hrs Dubai local time, 20 April). Customers will only be accepted for travel at their point of origin if the flight departs after 23:59hrs GMT, 19 April. Passengers already in transit in Dubai, with Dubai as a final destination, or departing from Dubai can continue to check in and travel.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-dubai-airports-ceo-on-misleading-social-media\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dubai Airports CEO on \u2018Misleading Social Media\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>It was the worst rainfall in 75 years for the UAE.
