{"id":13726,"date":"2024-05-20T12:11:06","date_gmt":"2024-05-20T09:11:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aviation-news.info\/?p=13726"},"modified":"2024-05-20T12:11:06","modified_gmt":"2024-05-20T09:11:06","slug":"follow-the-d-day-squadron-live-flying-across-the-atlantic-ocean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviation-news.info\/?p=13726","title":{"rendered":"Follow The D-Day Squadron Live Flying Across The Atlantic Ocean"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aviation News &#8211; Today May 18, 2024 (EDT 09:30 EDT), five years after their successful mission in 2019, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ddaysquadron.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">D-Day Squadron<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 the American contingent of Douglas C-47 and DC-3 transports is expected to depart Waterbury-Oxford Airport (KOXC) in Oxford, Connecticut and head out across the North Atlantic along the original Blue Spruce route. \u00a0Once they complete the flight the fleet will participate in events to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day invasions and 75th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift.<\/p>\n<p>For the occasion,\u00a0<strong>FlightAware has created a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flightaware.com\/commercial\/tv\/map\/d70e624756f5b8ba112436c3d231903088bb58405bb8b18291b0f0d1199d1bd2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">special link<\/a>\u00a0to track the progress of the fleet.<\/strong>\u00a0 FlightAware is an American multinational technology company that provides real-time, historical, and predictive flight tracking data and products.
