Farnborough Airport (FAB\/EGLF) has officially unveiled its 17,000sq ft Domus III hangar facility offering state-of-the-art facilities with sustainability built in.<\/p>\n

The new facility is part of a \u00a355m investment in infrastructure by the airport which will create jobs in the local area and generate growth.<\/p>\n

Domus III is a 300m long four-bay hangar capable of accommodating large private jets such as the Global 7500 and next-generation jets such as the Falcon 10X. Its construction also increases apron space at the airport, improving the screening and parking facilities.<\/p>\n

Sustainability features of Domus III include a fully intelligent lighting system, which incorporates daylight dimming to ensure the Airport makes the most and best efficient use of electricity on site. Natural light is also optimised in the hangar with the help of translucent automated doors that stretch the entire length of the building.<\/p>\n

The large door also provides easy access and is designed to improve aircraft manoeuvrability which helps to mitigate unnecessary emissions from aircraft.<\/p>\n

The project was delivered on time and on budget.<\/p>\n
