Wizz Air hit a record low for average CO2 intensity in fiscal year 2024. It now aims to power\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aviationsourcenews.com\/airline\/wizz-air-aims-for-10-saf-powered-flights-by-2030\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">10% of its flights with sustainable aviation fuel<\/a>\u00a0(SAF) by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>This ambitious target further solidifies Wizz Air\u2019s position as a sustainability leader within the industry.<\/p>\n<p>It further fuels its commitment to reducing carbon emissions per passenger kilometer by 25% by the year 2030.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"ultralow-cost-model-and-sustainability\" class=\"rb-heading-index-1-112168 wp-block-heading\">Ultra-Low Cost Model and Sustainability<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Yvonne Moynihan, Wizz Air\u2019s Corporate and ESG Officer<\/strong>, offered comment on the recent accolade.<\/p>\n<p>She highlighted the company\u2019s pride in being recognized by World Finance for its unwavering sustainability efforts for the fourth consecutive year.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Moynihan also emphasized that the airline\u2019s ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) business model inherently promotes sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to fleet renewal and operational efficiency enhancements, Wizz Air heavily invests in sustainable aviation fuel, considered the most impactful solution for reducing aviation emissions in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Achieving net-zero emissions requires industry-wide collaboration.
