{"id":15360,"date":"2024-07-14T10:14:32","date_gmt":"2024-07-14T07:14:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aviation-news.info\/?p=15360"},"modified":"2024-07-14T10:14:32","modified_gmt":"2024-07-14T07:14:32","slug":"volunteers-spruce-up-five-airstrips-in-oregons-hells-canyon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviation-news.info\/?p=15360","title":{"rendered":"Volunteers spruce up five airstrips in Oregon\u2019s Hells Canyon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In May 2024, 30 volunteers completed another successful work party, maintaining five airstrips in Hells Canyon, North America\u2019s deepest river gorge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has been a long-standing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/idahoaviation.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/idahoaviation.com\/\">Idaho Aviation Association<\/a>\u00a0work party, and they provide food and drinks for the volunteers,\u201d explained Bill Ables, Oregon liaison for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theraf.org\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"www.theraf.org\">Recreational Aviation Foundation<\/a>. \u201cNineteen aircraft arrived at Dug Bar at eight a.m. with some 30 folks who\u2019d come with a let\u2019s get \u2018er done attitude.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After a safety briefing, pilots dispersed to their choice of airstrips.
