In a statement to the Rajya Sabha on July 29, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol addressed this issue in writing, responding to a query from Shiv Sena MP Milind Murli Deora.<\/p>\n<p>Deora had inquired whether the government maintains records of cybersecurity incidents in ATCs and sought details on the number of incidents and the measures taken to address them.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AAI\u2019s compliance with National Cybersecurity Protocols<\/h2>\n<p>Mohol assured that the Airports Authority of\u00a0<a id=\"event-\" class=\"ie-click-event\" href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/india-news\/\" rel=\"noamphtml\" data-post-id=\"event-\" data-event-category=\"Keyword_To_URL_widget\" data-event-action=\"click\" data-event-label=\"Desktop_3568593\">India<\/a>\u00a0(AAI) adheres to the standards set by the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC) and the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) to safeguard ATC systems and air traffic data from cyber threats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Airports Authority of India (AAI) ensures compliance of standards set by National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC) and Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) for securing and protecting its data and systems including Air Traffic Data, from cyber threats,\u201d Mohol said.<\/p>\n<p>He also highlighted that the Bureau of Civil\u00a0<a id=\"event-\" class=\"ie-click-event\" href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/business\/airlines-aviation\/\" rel=\"noamphtml\" data-post-id=\"event-\" data-event-category=\"Keyword_To_URL_widget\" data-event-action=\"click\" data-event-label=\"Desktop_3568593\">Aviation<\/a>\u00a0Security (BCAS) mandates the National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP), which requires\u00a0<a id=\"event-47127\" class=\"ie-click-event\" href=\"https:\/\/financialexpress.com\/about\/airport\/\" rel=\"noamphtml\" data-post-id=\"event-47127\" data-event-category=\"Keyword_To_URL_widget\" data-event-action=\"click\" data-event-label=\"Desktop_3568593\">airport<\/a>\u00a0operators, airlines, and related service providers to implement measures to protect critical information and communication\u00a0<a id=\"event-\" class=\"ie-click-event\" href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/life\/technology\/\" rel=\"noamphtml\" data-post-id=\"event-\" data-event-category=\"Keyword_To_URL_widget\" data-event-action=\"click\" data-event-label=\"Desktop_3568593\">technology<\/a>\u00a0systems.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aviation security measures<\/h2>\n<p>Furthermore, the Ministry of Civil Aviation regularly issues security advisories and updates on cybersecurity threats and countermeasures, based on information from NCIIPC and CERT-In, to ensure the protection of computer systems, networks, and databases.<\/p>\n<p>Mohol added that cybersecurity expenses are covered under the Airport Authority of India\u2019s budget for Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) and Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCosts related to cybersecurity measures are budgeted under Airport Authority of India\u2019s head of expenditure for Communication, Navigation and Surveillance and Air Traffic Management (CNS\/ATM) systems,\u201d Mohol added.<\/p>\n<p>source:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/business\/airlines-aviation-no-cybersecurity-incidents-in-atc-systems-in-last-4-years-says-civil-aviation-ministry-3568593\/\"> https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/business\/airlines-aviation-no-cybersecurity-incidents-in-atc-systems-in-last-4-years-says-civil-aviation-ministry-3568593\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed that no cybersecurity incidents have been reported in Air Traffic Control (ATC) automation systems over the past four years.
