Airport Response and Security Checks
\nThe incident occurred on Wednesday during a security check prior to the flight\u2019s departure to Thailand. According to a statement from Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL), the passenger made a bomb threat while undergoing the Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC) at gate number 19.<\/p>\n
In response to the threat, the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was convened at 02:00 hours at Terminal 3. After a thorough assessment, the committee declared the threat as non-specific. Despite this, as a precautionary measure, the committee instructed that an SLPC and aircraft check be conducted following the deplaning of all passengers.<\/p>\n
The delay caused by the security checks resulted in the flight\u2019s departure being postponed by two hours. The aircraft eventually took off at 04:30 am.<\/p>\n
The passenger responsible for the threat was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation and legal proceedings.<\/p>\n
