The airline, known for its strong Middle East network and growing South Asian links, has now turned its attention to increasing its footprint in Trichy and its primary hub, Bengaluru.<\/p>\n

The latest additions indicate a significant increase in capacity and destinations, reinforcing Air India Express\u2019s commitment to connect Tier-II cities and regional airports.<\/p>\n

Air India Express Adding More Flights<\/h2>\n

Trichy (Tiruchirappalli) has emerged as a pivotal station for Air India Express over the past few months. Currently, the airline operates\u00a0daily flights to Chennai<\/strong>,\u00a0four weekly flights to Mumbai<\/strong>, and\u00a0two weekly flights to Bengaluru<\/strong>\u00a0from the city.<\/p>\n

However, beginning\u00a0June 1, 2025<\/strong>, this frequency is set to rise significantly with the introduction of\u00a0two new daily flights<\/strong>\u2014one each to Hyderabad and Bengaluru<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The addition of Hyderabad marks a new domestic destination for Air India Express from Trichy, and the increased frequency to Bengaluru\u2014jumping from 2 to 9 weekly flights.<\/p>\n

These new flights demonstrate strong demand in these sectors. These enhancements will\u00a0double\u00a0<\/strong>the domestic capacity out of Trichy, providing more options for travelers and ensuring better connectivity within India.<\/p>\n

By the time these new flights launch, Air India Express will be operating a total of\u00a027 weekly\u00a0<\/strong>domestic flights from Trichy. Air India Express already has a strong international presence from Trichy, especially in the\u00a0Gulf and Southeast Asian regions<\/strong>. The airline connects the city with key Middle Eastern destinations like\u00a0Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Doha, Kuwait City, Muscat, and Sharjah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These flights are crucial for the large expatriate population from Tamil Nadu working in the Gulf nations. With these routes, the airline offers an affordable and reliable alternative to IndiGo, which has a monopoly on many of these routes. Air India Express will serve passengers who seek budget-friendly travel options without compromising on essential services.<\/p>\n

Bengaluru, the largest hub for Air India Express<\/strong>, and the airline\u2019s upcoming additions reflect the strategic focus on this southern metro. The airline will introduce daily flights to Kathmandu and twice-daily services to Kochi, apart from daily flights to Trichy, starting from June 1, 2025.<\/p>\n

The expansion also reinforces Air India Express\u2019s competitive stance against other regional and budget carriers, especially IndiGo. IndiGo had the monopoly on most of these domestic sectors until now. With aggressive route launches and a continued focus on international connections, the airline is attempting to\u00a0capture\u00a0<\/strong>a share of India\u2019s fast-growing budget travel market.<\/p>\n
