IndiGo\u2019s upcoming international expansion will include new routes to Amsterdam (Netherlands), Manchester (UK), Copenhagen (Denmark), Siem Reap (Cambodia), and four destinations in Central Asia.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is tremendous opportunity in Indian aviation, where surging demand is being matched by rapid infrastructure growth,\u201d CEO Pieter Elbers said during a press briefing.
\nStarting July, IndiGo will launch direct flights from Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam using leased Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The Manchester route will also mark IndiGo\u2019s entry into long-haul operations.<\/p>\n
With annual revenues of $10 billion, IndiGo currently flies to over 90 domestic and 40 international destinations, operating more than 2,300 flights daily with a fleet of over 430 aircraft.
\nElbers said that 90% of India\u2019s population now lives within reach of an airport connected by IndiGo, underscoring the airline\u2019s growing domestic and international footprint. For FY25, the airline is targeting over 100 new routes, connecting 40 international destinations and 20 Indian cities as part of its aggressive expansion strategy. \u201cIndia is in a hurry\u2014and so is IndiGo,\u201d Elbers remarked.
\nIndiGo currently welcomes over 1 million customers every three days and takes pride in its inclusive workforce, boasting the highest number of female pilots in India and a strong LGBTQ+ community within its ranks.
\nCommenting on the regulatory challenges with reference to Turkey, Elbers said, \u201cWe work within the regulatory framework and will adjust accordingly.\u201d IndiGo is closely watching how aviation diplomacy and bilateral agreements evolve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
