Aviation News – LONDON,\u00a012\u00a0MARCH 2026:\u00a0<\/b>Virgin Atlantic has announced an accelerated rollout of Starlink,\u00a0the fastest Wi-Fi\u00a0in\u00a0the sky, as the airline gears up to introduce\u00a0free, high-speed\u00a0WiFi\u00a0across its entire fleet,\u00a0helping customers bring their world onboard from take-off to landing.<\/p>\n
Virgin Atlantic will begin introducing Starlink connectivity onboard\u00a0its Airbus A350 fleet from May, with\u00a0all\u00a0A350s\u00a0to be connected by early summer.\u00a0The first customer flight\u00a0is\u00a0slated\u00a0for early May\u00a0on the VS153\u00a0from London Heathrow\u00a0to\u00a0New York, JFK.\u00a0The programme will then extend across the Boeing 787 and Airbus A330neo fleets\u00a0as installation progresses,\u00a0with connectivity expected to reach\u00a0full\u00a0fleet coverage\u00a0anticipated\u00a0in\u00a02027.<\/p>\n
First announced in July 2025, Virgin Atlantic became the first UK airline to commit to free, fleet-wide Starlink\u00a0Wi-Fi\u00a0connectivity.\u00a0By\u00a0leveraging\u00a0the world’s most advanced satellite constellation in low Earth orbit, Starlink offers high-speed, low-latency internet access around the world, including the most isolated areas. This makes for a reliable, fast, and secure user experience.\u202fStarlink, the\u00a0fastest Wi-Fi in the\u00a0sky\u00a0will be offered entirely free of charge for Flying Club members, creating a digitally connected cabin, across its\u00a0modern\u00a0fleet.<\/p>\n
The new service aims to create a ‘home away from home’ Wi-Fi experience\u00a0in the sky, allowing customers to connect seamlessly, from the moment they board the\u00a0aircraft, enjoying the same quality in the air as they do on the ground.\u202f\u00a0During the flight, Starlink will enable customers to enjoy elevated entertainment, including downloading and streaming their favourite TV shows, gaming with friends on the ground, browsing internet shopping, catching up on work, watching live sports games,\u00a0connecting with friends and family\u00a0and\u00a0even making brief audio calls,\u00a0while keeping the cabin comfortable and relaxed for everyone.\u00a0Customers will be able to utilise multiple devices simultaneously including smartphones,\u00a0laptops\u00a0and tablets,\u00a0keeping messages moving, plans in play\u00a0and everything, and everyone, that matters close.<\/p>\n
