flydubai, the Dubai-based carrier, has celebrated the launch of its daily operations to Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) in Bangkok, marking its second destination in Thailand alongside Krabi. The inaugural flight departed from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) on 01 July, offering passengers more options to connect to one of Southeast Asia\u2019s most popular destinations.<\/p>\n

The inaugural flight touched down earlier today to a water cannon salute and a warm welcome from local officials representing the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Don Mueang International Airport as well as other key stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The launch of operations to Bangkok not only complements the carrier\u2019s direct service to Krabi but also marks another milestone in flydubai\u2019s network expansion, as the airline continues to respond to strong demand for travel between the UAE and Thailand. Due to its proximity to downtown Bangkok, Don Mueang International Airport offers passengers travelling from Dubai convenient access to the city\u2019s vibrant attractions. \u200b<\/p>\n

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, said:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cWe are pleased to celebrate the start of our daily flights to Bangkok, further expanding our network in Thailand. Thailand remains a key destination for both leisure and business travel and our direct service to Don Mueang International Airport, which offers convenient access to central Bangkok, introduces a new gateway to the Thai capital that our customers will benefit from, supporting the growth of trade and tourism flows while reinforcing Dubai\u2019s position as a leading global aviation hub.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), said:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cThe Middle East, particularly the UAE, is one of Thailand\u2019s most important long-haul markets, bringing high-quality, high-spending travellers, with 188,447 visitors arriving from the region between 01 January and 21 June 2026 alone. Today\u2019s inaugural flydubai flight between Dubai and Don Mueang comes at an especially opportune time and will strengthen air connectivity. Starting with one daily flight and operated with Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, this route will add much-needed capacity to Thailand this summer, building momentum through to our year-end peak season and reinforcing Thailand\u2019s position as a leading destination for Middle Eastern travellers.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Thailand has long been a popular destination for both leisure and business travellers, with Bangkok serving as a key gateway to the region. The introduction of daily flights enhances connectivity and supports the continued growth of travel and trade between the UAE and Thailand, as well as key destinations across flydubai\u2019s wider network.<\/p>\n

Sudhir Sreedharan, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at flydubai, said:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cWe are always looking for opportunities to diversify our network and offer our customers more travel choices. With the start of flights to Bangkok, we are providing passengers from the UAE, the GCC and beyond with convenient travel options just in time for the busy summer season. Over the coming years, we look forward to seeing how this route will develop as demand continues to grow and more customers choose to travel with flydubai, enjoying our lie-flat seats in Business Class and enhanced comfort in Economy Class.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Bangkok marks the latest addition to flydubai\u2019s growing network, following the recent launch of flights to Benghazi in Libya and the planned flights to Pokhara in Nepal scheduled from September, reflecting the airline\u2019s commitment on opening up underserved markets.<\/p>\n

The carrier recently clinched the \u201cAirline with the Best Connectivity in the Middle East\u201d for the third time at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2026, alongside having received the \u201cAirline of the Year\u201d and \u201cTrailblazer Award for Outstanding New Service Launch\u201d at the Aviation Achievement Awards 2026, as well as the Fast Company Middle East\u2019s Brands That Matter 2026 award.<\/p>\n

Flight details<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Bangkok service is offered as part of the flydubai and Emirates codeshare partnership, enabling passengers to benefit from seamless connections through Dubai on a single ticket, with through-checked baggage and access to an extensive combined network.<\/p>\n

Flights will operate daily from Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB), with return Business Class fares from DXB to DMK starting from AED 11,100, and Economy Class Lite fares starting from AED 3,000.<\/p>\n

Return Business Class fares from DMK to DXB start from THB 83,900, and Economy Class Lite fares start from THB 22,100.<\/p>\n
