Wizz Air\u00a0is celebrating new daily routes between\u00a0London Gatwick Airport\u00a0plus\u00a0London Luton\u00a0Airport and\u00a0Istanbul Airport. The new routes between connect the capital cities of the United Kingdom and T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n

Wizz Air has \u201ccontinued commitment\u201d to T\u00fcrkiye<\/h2>\n

In the words of Marion Geoffroy, Managing Director, Wizz Air UK, the airline is \u201cexcited\u201d at the new routes. Geoffroy elaborates below;<\/p>\n

Luton Airport very excited by the new route<\/h2>\n

London\u2019s Luton Airport had its Chief Commercial Officer Jonathan Rayner explain how the new route to Istanbul was very complimentary to the airport. Rayner went on to say,<\/p>\n

\u201cIstanbul is a vibrant and historic city that is sure to be a firm favourite with passengers flying from London Luton Airport. It\u2019s always exciting to see a new destination appear on London Luton Airport\u2019s departure boards and Istanbul is the first of several new destinations set to be introduced over the coming months, providing even greater choice as part of the simple and friendly passenger experience that we offer.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

London\u00a0Luton Airport<\/a>\u00a0threw a small party with special flags and gifts all captured by one of the airport\u2019s videographers:<\/p>\n

This morning, we celebrated with\u00a0@wizzair<\/a>\u00a0as they launched their inaugural flight to Istanbul! The new daily service is an exciting new addition to the routes we offer from LLA! The airport enjoys having easyJet, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Tui, FlyOne, Sun Express and El Al as connecting airlines. Furthermore, Luton Airport also has a\u00a0new automated Direct Air-Rail Transit (DART) people-mover<\/a>\u00a0that connects the airport with high-speed rail to London.<\/p>\n

Joy in T\u00fcrkiye<\/h2>\n

These routes see the start of Wizz operations in IST, and make it the 84th airline to connect to Istanbul\u2019s international airport. Services to Budapest and Iasi in Romania will commence in the next couple of weeks.<\/p>\n

Adding a new ultra low cost service to the airport’s network has been met by joy from the nation. The Turkish Culture and Information Office said,<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are delighted to witness the launch of these new routes to Istanbul. With influences from across two continents, Istanbul is a popular and beloved destination, offering visitors a unique experience rich in culture, history, food, and fashion.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The inaugural flight was flown by a lady pilot, as per above, and was welcomed with open arms and well wishes.<\/p>\n

Such was the joy and gratitude of Istanbul that there were even flowers for Managing Director, Wizz Air UK Marion Geoffroy at Istanbul Airport:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also worth noting this is only the beginning of\u00a0Wizz Air\u2019s expansion into serving T\u00fcrkiye<\/a>. Additional United Kingdom routes will be\u00a0Gatwick<\/a>\u00a0Airport gaining routes to Antalya and Dalaman also.<\/p>\n

All routes to T\u00fcrkiye will normally be served by Wizz Air\u2019s\u00a0Airbus A321neos<\/a>. According to Evelin Jeckel, Chief Network Officer, when speaking at CONNECT Route Development Forum\u00a0about the A321neo<\/a>,<\/p>\n

“With the A321neo, we can stimulate more traffic [through lower seat-mile costs and therefore fares]. “<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
