A UPS Boeing 747 Freighter has just diverted into Delhi, India whilst en route to Shanghai from Cologne in the last few minutes.<\/p>\n

UPS flight 5X10 was operated by the airline\u2019s Boeing 747-8 Freighter, registered as N626UP, which is 2.3 years old as per data from\u00a0Planespotters.net<\/a>.<\/p>\n

N626UP was delivered to the carrier brand new in March 2021 and is one of the many last aircraft from the 747 production line before production ceased earlier this year.<\/p>\n

As we can see from the image above, the aircraft proceeded to operate a hold over the border of Pakistan, potentially to lose some weight before the choice of diversion into Delhi on its scheduled flight between Cologne and Shanghai.<\/p>\n

The UPS Boeing 747 Freighter departed from Cologne at 0904 local time this morning, and all was normal until around 1413 UTC when the emergency began to arise.<\/p>\n

From there, Delhi was chosen as the diversion airport, with the aircraft landing at 2052 local time.<\/p>\n

At this stage, it is unclear what the cause of the emergency is, but is serious enough to cause a diversion into Delhi.<\/p>\n

The airport is more than capable of handling an aircraft of this size when it is in the stages of an emergency.<\/p>\n

AviationSource<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0will approach UPS for a comment on the nature of this emergency, with there to be updates due to follow in due course.<\/p>\n

This remains a developing story due to the arrival of the aircraft into Delhi occurring only just a few minutes ago.<\/p>\n
