French aerospace industry group GIFAS will have a new leader starting on August 1, when Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Parisot becomes its managing director. The former corps general of France\u2019s Air and Space Force, Parisot joined the association in mid-May to help prepare for this week\u2019s Paris Air Show. He replaces\u00a0Pierre Bourlot, who is retiring.<\/p>\n
Since 2018, Parisot has served as the Air and Space Force\u2019s deputy chief of procurement and future requirements. Prior to then, he served as\u00a0air deputy to France\u2019s chief of military staff and in 2017 was the country\u2019s director of civil-military cooperation in the multi-national \u201cInherent Resolve\u201d mission in Iraq.<\/p>\n
As a military pilot flying Mirage 2000 and F-18 fighter aircraft, Parisot flew 81 combat missions. He graduated from France\u2019s Ecole de l\u2019Air military aviation school and formerly served as\u00a0the auditor of the country\u2019s IHEDN Institute for Advanced Studies in National Defense.<\/p>\n
GIFAS’s\u00a0membership rolls total\u00a0about 440 member companies involved in all aspects of aerospace and defense technology and that collectively generated revenues of \u20ac62.7 billion ($68.9 billion) in 2022.
