Aviation news international- The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) has successfully completed the delivery of theAviat second C919 aircraft to China Eastern Airlines (CEA).<\/p>\n

The \u201cthree certificate\u201d issuance and delivery ceremony took place on July 14th, 2023, at the flight test complex building of Zhuqiao base, marking an important milestone in the collaboration between COMAC and CEA.<\/p>\n

This event marked the official handover of the second C919 aircraft, bearing the registration code B-919C, to China Eastern Airlines.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by several key individuals, including representatives from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) East China Regional Administration.<\/p>\n

Also in attendance for the handover was the dedicated team from CEA, leaders from COMAC\u2019s Assembly Manufacturing Center, and the main members of the delivery team.<\/p>\n

Production of second C919<\/h2>\n

The assembly process of the B-919C aircraft commenced in August 2022, followed by the completion of the final assembly in February 2023. The production flight test phase concluded successfully in June 2023.<\/p>\n

As the delivery phase began, the CEA awaiting team collaborated closely with COMAC\u2019s delivery team, meticulously executing tasks such as aircraft appearance inspection, ground testing, delivery flight tests, CAAC inspections, and document handover.<\/p>\n

On July 16th, the B-919C aircraft underwent a ferry flight, marking its safe arrival. With this successful delivery, the aircraft is now poised to commence operations on various routes for China Eastern Airlines in the near future.<\/p>\n

First C919 for launch customer China Eastern<\/h2>\n

China Eastern Airlines received its first COMAC C919 on December 9, 2022. The aircraft, with the registration number B-919A, was delivered to the airline at the COMAC headquarters in Shanghai.<\/p>\n

The Chinese airline is the launch customer for the C919. It has ordered five of the aircraft, and it plans to use them on domestic and regional routes. The first commercial flight of the C919 took place on May 28, 2023, from Shanghai to Beijing.<\/p>\n

The C919 aircraft represents a remarkable achievement in the Chinese aviation industry. Developed by COMAC, it is a narrow-body twin-engine airliner specifically designed for the commercial aviation market.<\/p>\n

The C919 is capable of carrying up to 168 passengers and has a maximum range of approximately 4,075 kilometers (2,532 miles). China Eastern Airlines is the second-largest airline in China, in terms of passenger traffic, after China Southern Airlines. It is headquartered in Shanghai, China, and operates a fleet of over 600 aircraft. The airline currently flies to over 1,000 destinations in over 170 countries and regions.<\/p>\n

China Eastern Airlines was founded in 1988 as a merger of three airlines: Shanghai Airlines, China General Aviation, and Northwest Airlines. The airline joined the SkyTeam airline alliance in 2011.<\/p>\n
