The agenda features\u00a0keynotes by Robert Habeck, German Minister of Economics and Climate Protection, Volker Wissing, German Minister of Digital Affairs and Transport, and Dr Peter Tschentscher, Mayor of Hamburg. Various panels including representatives of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamburg-aviation.de\/en\/aviation-site.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aviation<\/a>, trade unions, environmental associations and research will also be held. A working group on climate-neutral aviation, set up by the Federal Government, will present its preliminary findings. The conference is being held jointly by the German Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, the German Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport, the German Air Transport Association, the German Aerospace Industries Association and the City of Hamburg.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"paragraph paragraph--type--text paragraph--view-mode--default paragraph--id--4226\">\n<div class=\"paragraph__column\">\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-field-text field--type-text-long field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<h2>Hamburg world&#8217;s third largest centre of aviation<\/h2>\n<p>Hamburg is the world&#8217;s third-largest civil aviation centre. The city has three anchor companies in Hamburg Airport, Airbus and Lufthansa Technik as well over 300 others with a total workforce of more than 40,000. Aviation is also a catalyst of foreign trade. &#8220;Hamburg&#8217;s economy exported goods worth EUR 26.7 billion in the first half of 2023 or EUR 2.9 billion more (+12.4 per cent) than in the first half of 2022,&#8221; Hamburg Aviation said, citing data released by the Statistics Office North. Meanwhile, Airbus opened a new cutting-edge hangar in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamburg-news.hamburg\/en\/companies\/airbus-opens-new-installation-hangar-hamburg-finkenwerder\">\u00a0Finkenwerder\u00a0<\/a>where the A321XLR is being assembled in September. The aircraft, the latest flagship in the A320 Family, is expected to set new standards in sustainability, economy and range.<\/p>\n<h2>Key industry on path sustainability<\/h2>\n<p>The accelerator scheme for start-ups,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamburg-news.hamburg\/en\/innovation-science\/sustainable-aero-lab-driving-sustainable-aviation-hamburg\">\u00a0Sustainable Aero Lab<\/a>, has aimed to slash aviation&#8217;s carbon footprint since its launch in Hamburg in 2021. The Centre for Applied Aviation Research (ZAL) recently announced a partnership with the Singaporean scale-up\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamburg-news.hamburg\/en\/innovation-science\/zal-and-h3-dynamics-advance-hydrogen-fuelled-aviation\">H3 Dynamics<\/a>\u00a0to advance the use of hydrogen in aviation and advanced air mobility.
