The Center on Monday raised domestic airlines\u2019 \u2019Winter Schedule 2023\u2019 or planned flight operations per week by 8.16% on a year-on-year basis.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/business\/airlines-aviation-emirates-adds-premium-economy-on-india-flights-from-month-end-3279605\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Directorate General of Civil Aviation\u00a0<\/a>(DGCA) has approved slots for 23,732 flight departures per week, more than the 21,941 allocated during the winter schedule in 2022.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-ie-network-blocks-also-read undefined ie-network-also-read\">\n<div>On a sequential basis, the \u2018Winter Schedule 2023\u2019 has 3.60% more flights than the 22,907 departures per week approved for the \u2018Summer Schedule 2023\u2019.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The \u2018Winter Schedule\u2019 is effective from October 29, 2023, until March 30, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, more flights and increased capacity are expected to tame high ticket prices.<\/p>\n<p>According to DGCA, the \u2018Winter Schedule 2023\u2019 of scheduled Indian carriers was finalised after the slot conference meeting held in September 2023.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the regulator said that the final slots clearances had been received from \u201crespective\u00a0<a id=\"event-47127\" class=\"ie-click-event\" href=\"https:\/\/financialexpress.com\/about\/airport\/\" rel=\"noamphtml\" data-post-id=\"event-47127\" data-event-category=\"Keyword_To_URL_widget\" data-event-action=\"click\" data-event-label=\"Desktop_3284771\">airport<\/a>\u00a0operators on the eGCA portal\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been observed that there are 23,732 departures per week that have been finalized to or from 118 airports as per WS 23, compared to 22,907 departures per week from 110 airports in \u2018Summer Schedule 2023\u2019,\u201d the DGCA said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-ie-network-blocks-also-read undefined ie-network-also-read\"><span class=\"heading\">ALSO READ<\/span><\/p>\n<div><a class=\"ie-click-event\" href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/business\/airlines-aviation-akasa-air-eyes-bourse-debut-by-end-of-decade-as-international-expansion-takes-flight-3283635\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-event-category=\"as_also_read\" data-event-label=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/business\/airlines-aviation-akasa-air-eyes-bourse-debut-by-end-of-decade-as-international-expansion-takes-flight-3283635\/\">Akasa Air eyes bourse debut by end of decade as international expansion takes flight<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cOut of these 118 airports, Bhatinda, Jaisalmer, Ludhiana, Nanded, Shivmoga, Salem, Utkela, Hindon, and Ziro are the new airports proposed by the scheduled airlines, whereas operations from Gondia airport have not been proposed in \u2018Winter Schedule 2023\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As per \u2018WS23\u2019,\u00a0<a id=\"event-\" class=\"ie-click-event\" href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/market\/interglobe-aviation-ltd-share-price\/\" rel=\"noamphtml\" data-post-id=\"event-\" data-event-category=\"Keyword_To_URL_widget\" data-event-action=\"click\" data-event-label=\"Desktop_3284771\">IndiGo<\/a>\u00a0had the highest number of flights approved under the schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Under the approved schedule, IndiGo had 13,119 flights per week approved, followed by Air\u00a0<a id=\"event-\" class=\"ie-click-event\" href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/india-news\/\" rel=\"noamphtml\" data-post-id=\"event-\" data-event-category=\"Keyword_To_URL_widget\" data-event-action=\"click\" data-event-label=\"Desktop_3284771\">India<\/a>\u00a0at 2,367,\u00a0<a id=\"event-\" class=\"ie-click-event\" href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/market\/spicejet-ltd-share-price\/\" rel=\"noamphtml\" data-post-id=\"event-\" data-event-category=\"Keyword_To_URL_widget\" data-event-action=\"click\" data-event-label=\"Desktop_3284771\">SpiceJet<\/a>\u00a0at 2,132, Vistara at 1,902, and AirAsia India (AIX Connect) at 1,457.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Alliance Air had an approved flight strength of 914, Akasa Air at 790, Air India Express at 483, Star Air at 247, FlyBig at 191, IndiaOne Air at 112, and Pawan Hans at 18.<\/p>\n<p>source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/business\/airlines-aviation-domestic-carriers-to-operate-8-more-this-winter-328477\">https:\/\/www.financialexpress.com\/business\/airlines-aviation-domestic-carriers-to-operate-8-more-this-winter-328477<\/a>1\/<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Air aviation news &#8211;
