
Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier is going all out with its summer schedule and has added more than 50 flights covering key destinations in Europe and Asia. Recently, the carrier also launched A320 flights to Dar es Salam and announced 787 flights to Birmingham and London Gatwick.
56 new flights
Saudia has significantly increased its international presence by adding 56 flights to 14 destinations for the summer schedule. The carrier is strongly focusing on its strategy of connecting Saudi Arabia to the world, and intensifying its global network is part of that plan. Here’s what the airline has added to its summer schedule:
Asia
Bangkok: Three additional flights from Jeddah since March 26th. Saudia now has a total of 10 flights a week to Bangkok, with daily services from Jeddah and three flights per week from Riyadh.
Seoul: The carrier introduced non-stop flights to Seoul from both Jeddah and Riyadh on March 26th, totaling four non-stop services a week, two each from Jeddah and Riyadh.
Guangzhou: Saudia started serving Guangzhou from Jeddah three times a week on March 26th and will also introduce two new weekly flights from Riyadh.
Kuala Lumpur: Three services a week between Riyadh and Kuala Lumpur have boosted Saudia’s presence in Kuala Lumpur to 24 flights per week, with 21 flights from Jeddah and three from Riyadh each week.
Singapore: It now serves Singapore non-stop from Jeddah three times a week, replacing its one-stop flight via Male.
Jakarta: Three services a week between Riyadh and Jakarta and three more from Jeddah have taken the airline’s total Jakarta flights to 24 per week.

Europe
London: From May 1st, Saudia will be adding the 3rd daily flight from Riyadh to London, and from July 1st, it will increase flights between Jeddah and London to double daily. The extra services will boost Saudia’s presence in London to 35 flights per week, with 14 flights from Jeddah and 21 flights from Riyadh each week.
Istanbul: From June 23rd, the carrier will add a second daily flight between Riyadh and Istanbul.
Milan: From June 23rd, Saudia will serve Milan daily. The company will introduce three new weekly flights from Riyadh in addition to the current four flights per week from Jeddah.
Geneva: The carrier will serve Geneva with two daily flights, one each from Jeddah and Riyadh, from June 24th.
Barcelona: Saudia will introduce four weekly Barcelona flights from June 25th.
Vienna: It will serve Vienna daily from June 23rd by introducing three new weekly flights from Riyadh, in addition to the current four flights per week from Jeddah.
Paris: From August 1st, Saudia will increase the current daily flight between Jeddah and Paris to double daily.
Looking ahead
Saudia’s network expansion comes at a time when it is also trying to become a more modern airline to keep up with other dominant players in the region. The airline is also starting a digital transformation by focusing heavily on data clouding to enhance the digital processes for passengers.
